Along with a Short Lecture by Art Sherwyn
Come and join us for an evening of abstract art and making sense of this most misunderstood genre in the history of art. View the abstract works of new young artist, Bryce Holloway as he shares insight into his creative thought process, methods and techniques.
Art Sherwyn, veteran art educator and artist, will provide a 35-minute lecture revealing the nature and mystic of abstract art, and helping answer some of the following questions; What inspires an abstract artist? What does one look for when looking at abstract art? What are you supposed to appreciate when looking at abstract art? How do you talk about abstract art? What makes abstract art significant and a powerful movement the history of art?
This event starts at 5:30 on March 9th the Bakersfield Racquet Club, 1660 Pine St. corner of Pine and Truxton. Presentations will begin at 6:00. Light refreshments will be served and there is no charge for this event.
