For over 40 years, Art Sherwyn has been devoted to unlocking creative potential through the appreciation and practice of visual art. A highly celebrated high school art teacher, Art has received some of the highest honors in art education, including the prestigious Disney American Teacher Award, California Secondary Art Educator of the Year, and National Secondary Art Educator of the Year, western region. His expertise has led to invitations to speak at local, state, and national conferences on arts, education, and leadership.
Through his dynamic workshops, retreats, and public lectures, Art inspires participants to break free from convention, embrace challenge as a pathway to success, and enrich their lives through the emotional freedom cultivated in the artistic process.

Art Sherwyn is an artist in constant exploration. Whether painting outdoors in the heart of American landscapes or working in his studio, he pushes the boundaries of playful form and expression. His workspace is a world of creative energy—where 1930s blues guitars hum from a weathered radio, tennis balls sit in trays of wet paint, and works created from smoke and fire hang beside his traditional landscapes.
His vibrant interpretations of life and nature can be found in public and private collections across the globe.
Continuing the Journey
Art Sherwyn continues to teach in Bakersfield, CA, while traveling the country to offer lectures and workshops to artists, educators, and lifelong learners. His passion for truth, beauty, and creative expression fuels his ongoing exploration of new ways to inspire and connect with others.
